Conjura pulls Sessions directly from Google Analytics 4 (GA4). However, it’s normal to see differences between the numbers in Conjura and what appears in the GA4 interface. Below are the two most common reasons this happens.
1. GA4 Data Takes Time to Settle
GA4 frequently updates and re-attributes data for several hours to days after events occur.
Conjura ingests GA4 data at approximately 2:00 AM.
GA4 may still be adjusting session counts when you check the interface later in the morning.
This can result in the GA4 UI displaying a lower or higher count than what Conjura pulled earlier.
2. GA4 Shows Different Totals Depending on How You Filter
GA4 can return different session counts depending on the dimensions you apply.
For example, slicing by device, channel, landing page, or other attributes in GA4's reporting often results in totals that don’t match the headline session number.
Conjura retrieves session data at the lowest level of granularity.
This ensures downstream reporting is consistent, but it can make the total appear higher than what GA4 shows in its roll-up views.
