When to Use a Custom Product Attributes Import

Conjura Retail Analytics automatically retrieves product data from your integrated eCommerce platforms like Shopify and BigCommerce. This data includes essential attributes like product category, brand, and SKU, which are vital for in-depth analysis and reporting.

If your product attributes, such as categories or sizes, aren't fully captured in your eCommerce platform, you can use the Custom Product Attributes Import to ensure your data in Retail Analytics is complete and accurate.

Why Import Product Attributes?

Accurate product attribute data is essential for meaningful product analysis. Whether you're analyzing product performance by category, size, or color, having detailed and correct product attributes ensures your insights are reliable, leading to better business decisions.

How to Use a Custom Product Attributes Import

You can manually add product attributes in two ways: via CSV upload or by direct entry into the app.

Important: Assigning Product Category 1 manually in the Product Table will overwrite the category normally pulled from Shopify/BigCommerce.

CSV Upload Method

For large-scale updates, the CSV method is recommended. Here’s how:

  1. Navigate to the Custom Data Import tab under ‘Connectors’ on the left-hand side navigation bar.

  2. Select ‘Product Attributes’.

  3. Download the CSV Template File.

  4. Fill out the spreadsheet offline with the following details:

    • Product Key (pre-populated)

    • Product SKU (pre-populated)

    • Product Name (pre-populated)

    • Product Brand (pre-populated, defaults to 'Unknown' if not available in Shopify/BigCommerce)

    • Product Category 1 (Category normally pulled from Shopify/BigCommerce)

    • Product Category 2

    • Product Category 3

    • Product Colour

    • Product Size

  5. Save the completed file.

  6. Upload the CSV Template File back in Retail Analytics.

  7. Map any necessary columns and confirm the data is correct.

  8. Submit the data. It will sync overnight and appear in your report.

Direct Entry Method

For smaller updates or single entries, you can manually input data directly into the app:

  1. Navigate to the Custom Data Import tab under ‘Connectors’.

  2. Select ‘Product Attributes’.

  3. Enter the required data directly in the interface.

  4. Submit the data.

Your updates will sync overnight and reflect in your reports the next day.
